Scorers 1st Sportmanagement is extremely pleased to announce the signing of Tim Ohlbrecht to our agency.
From his growth within the game of basketball around Germany, to his time representing the German National team, to the NBA D-League and most recently as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and Houston Rockets in the NBA, Tim’s development and determination to succeed makes him one of the more prized big men in the game today.
“Being able to watch Tim grow on and off of the floor over the years makes me proud of his achievements, both as a player and a person. We know Tim pushes himself to be the best at what he does, and Scorers 1st plans to do the same in representing Tim.”
At 7-feet, 255 pounds, Ohlbrecht spent the 2013-14 NBA preseason as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and the 2012-13 season with the Houston Rockets, where the tough power forward/center had earned a call-up for his strong performances in the NBDL and signed a multi-year contract.
Prior to reaching the NBA, the 25-year old Ohlbrecht averaged 13.3 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals per game playing for the Rockets’ D-League affiliate, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers with whom he also captured the 2013 NBDL Championship. Ohlbrecht competed in the D-League All-Star Game last February, where the Wuppertal, Germany native finished with 12 point and 12 rebounds in 21 minutes of action. Originally drafted 14th overall by the D-League’s Springfield Armor (affiliate of the Brooklyn Nets) in early November 2012, Ohlbrecht’s rights were traded to Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
Ohlbrecht began his professional basketball career at 15-years old in Germany and rose in the ranks after joining Bamberg -- where he won a BEKO BBL Championship --, Bonn and Frankfurt and competing both in the Euroleague and EuroCup. A versatile big man who can play inside and out, Ohlbrecht’s best season as a pro in Germany came with Bonn when he averaged 10.5 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 2009-10.
A constant presence for the German National Team on the Senior and Junior level since his days playing on the U16 and U18 teams, Ohlbrecht appeared at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and two summers ago he averaged 14.7 minutes per game in the Qualification Round for EuroBasket 2013.
Scorers 1st is happy to have Tim Ohlbrecht as a part of the Scorers 1st family and we look forward to his continued success.
