Playing for the Heat, Barthel (6-foot-10, 220 pounds) was highly active defensively and remained aggressive offensively throughout his time in Orlando. Barthel finished with 3 points, 6 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block in 13 minutes in Miami's 85-77 win against the Boston Celtics.
The power forward and 2014 Most Improved Player in Germany's BEKO BBL, followed the performance up with 8 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist in 13 minutes as the Heat defeated the Brooklyn Nets, 110-91. In his last Orlando Summer League game, Barthel (4.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block in 19 minutes per game, 4 games) posted 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 blocks and 2 assists in 21 minutes against the the Oklahoma City Thunder.
A two-time NBA D-League champion (2013 Rio Grande Valley, 2014 Fort Wayne Mad Ants), Tim Ohlbrecht played equally well for the Detroit Pistons in Orlando. Going up against his former team, Ohlbrecht (6-foot-11, 260 pounds) finished with 11 points, converted 4/4 field goals, and 5 rebounds in 21 minutes versus the Houston Rockets, whom Ohlbrecht played for during the 2012-13 NBA season. The 2014 All NBA D-League Honorable Mention grabbed a summer league-best 7 rebounds against the Boston Celtics, while averaging 4.8 points and 4 rebounds in 19 minutes per game (4 games) at the Orlando Summer League.
