Gino Pilato of D-League Digest recently spoke with Tim Ohlbrecht, to discuss his season with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and if he is the "league's best under the radar big".
Currently the only member left from last season’s NBA D-League championship squad, [Tim] Ohlbrecht brings a certain level of experience to this year’s team.
“I’m really happy to have my role, I’m a captain for the team. Of course, I have a lot of experience not only in the D-League, but also as a professional player for eight years. If the other guys have questions either on or off the court, I try to help them.”
Obviously, a guy with Ohlbrecht’s track record is almost a rarity in the NBADL, so why would he want to come back to the NBADL? Ohlbrecht touched on the reason for his return,
“I had so much positive feedback from NBA personnel after last season and from training camp. I’m in my mid-20′s now so I figured why not? We discussed all of my offers and figured that if it doesn’t work out, I’ll have some other options. I’m glad I’m here though.”
