The Canton Charge of the D-League have announced their 2013-14 training camp roster, which will include Scorers 1st own Travis Franklin.
Franklin returns to the Charge for his third year after averaging 7.3 points and 2 rebounds per game in 45 appearances last season.
Drafted by the Canton Charge with the second pick of the sixth round (81st overall pick) of the 2011 NBA D-League Draft, Franklin's best game of the season last year included posting a season-high 18 points in 23 minutes in a 108-83 win over the Maine Red Claws.
During his three years at Colorado State, Franklin made a direct impact each season and earned All-MWC Honorable Mention honors as a junior (10.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 steals in 25.8 minutes per game, 32 games) before putting together a solid senior year (11.8 points on .545 shooting, 4.5 rebounds , 1.8 assists and 1.3 steals in 23.8 minutes per game, 32 games) as the program’s second leading scorer.
After being selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers D-League affiliate, the Canton Charge, Franklin used his explosive low-post game to average 7.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1 assist per game, while shooting 55% from the field in 19 minutes per game (2 starts, 35 games). Quick and a strong finisher around the rim, Franklin’s best game of the 2011-12 season came against the Idaho Stampede — 21 points, 5 rebounds on 9-10 from the free-throw line in 21 minutes in the 109-101 win.
