It has been a season in the D-League that has seen Tim Ohlbrecht grow into a starter with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, showcase a number of breakout games and become a main stay in the league's "Prospect Watch".
Now, the 6-foot-11 center is a member of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Ohlbrecht was traded from RGV to Fort Wayne for a 2014 first round draft pick and averaged 12.4 points and 7.1 rebounds in 32 games as the lone returner to the Vipers championship run last season.
The Mad Ants are the D-League affiliate of the Charlotte Bobcats, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers, Memphis Grizzlies, Milwaukee Bucks and the Orlando Magic.
Among Ohlbrecht's season highlights thus far: a season-high 29 points and 20 rebounds in RGV's 123-113 win over the Texas Legends, 28 points and 13 rebounds to beat the Tulsa 66ers 124-113, and was selected among the D-League's "Top Performers" from January 31 to February 2nd.
“We would like to thank Tim for everything he has done with us in the past two years. He was a key member of our 2013 Championship run. We wish him luck, and he will always remain a member of the Vipers family,” said Rio Grande Valley Vipers General Manager Gianluca.
