German '02 born G/F Luc van Slooten entered his name as an early entry for the 2021 NBA Draft!
"It's my dream to make it to the NBA and hear my name called on draft night. I see this as a new challenge to measure myself against the best. I want to see where and how far my path can go, and I want to make the most of my opportunities" says van Slooten on his decision to enter the draft.
The 6’8 ft. G/F, who turned 19 in April 2021, played a key role for Basketball Löwen Braunschweig in the easyCredit Basketball-Bundesliga this season finishing 9th in the standings after the regular season - just one win shy of making the Play-Offs.
Braunschweig Head-Coach Pete Strobl had this to say about Luc's role and development during the 2020/21 season:
"Luc is far beyond his years in terms of Basketball IQ and overall knowledge of the game. His development this season was remarkable and we used his skills in multiple positions. His ability to see the floor and use his shooting as a weapon to find his teammates added a valuable dimension to our team. Defensively he was our leader in charges taken simply by reading the game and anticipating the action before it materialized.“
The 2021 NBA Draft will take place on July 29th 2021. As this is the first possible year for van Slooten to enter his name as an early entry he has until 10 days prior to the NBA Draft to decide about keeping his name in the NBA Draft or withdrawing.
