Sontag began her career with TuS Lichterfelde and USC Freiburg before joining the UCLA Bruins in 2022. As a freshman, she led the team with 37 blocks—the third-most by a freshman in program history—and helped UCLA reach back-to-back Sweet 16 appearances in 2023 and 2024.
Following her time at UCLA, she returned to Germany for the 2025–26 season with Osnabrück, where she averaged 11 points and 8 rebounds per game.
An Olympian and member of Germany’s senior national team, Sontag represented her country at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Germany reached the quarterfinals. She also competed at the 2023 FIBA Women’s EuroBasket, helping Germany to a sixth-place finish.
