Merit has developed her game both at the club level and internationally. She rose through the youth ranks in Germany, winning multiple U18 titles, before making her senior league debut with Eintracht Braunschweig and then playing for GiroLive Panthers Osnabrück in the German Damen-Bundesliga.
In 2023 she moved to Sweden, joining Sjuhärads Basket/Mark Borås (a joint club) in the Swedish Basketball League. There her production stepped up: in the 2023-24 season she averaged about 12.2 points and 8.1 rebounds per game; in the 2024-25 season she improved to 15.9 points and 8.9 rebounds per game.
Internationally, she has represented Germany at youth levels (U16, U20), including winning silver at the 2016 FIBA U16 European Championship
