Sam has built an accomplished international professional basketball career since being selected by the Washington Mystics in the third round of the 2019 WNBA Draft. After launching her overseas career in Germany, she went on to compete in France's top domestic league and the prestigious Women's EuroLeague with Basket Landes. She further expanded her European résumé with Hungarian powerhouse Sopron, competing in both domestic league play and EuroCup Women competition. A dynamic and versatile forward, Fuehring has also captured championships in Mexico and Puerto Rico, where her strong performances have earned multiple individual accolades and recognition.
Before embarking on her professional career, Fuehring starred at the University of Louisville from 2015 to 2019. During her four-year career with the Cardinals, she appeared in 141 games and helped lead the program to unprecedented success, including a berth in the NCAA Women's Final Four. As a senior, she averaged 10.8 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 56 percent from the field. Fuehring graduated as a member of the winningest senior class in Louisville women's basketball history, compiling 123 victories, two ACC regular-season titles, an ACC Tournament championship, and multiple deep NCAA Tournament runs.
